Does A Neck Tattoo Give You Rock Star Status?

Hell Ya!

Okay if you can actually Rock Onstage even better but seriously, neck tattoos can be the most ballsy statement you can make. That's why neck tattoos have been coined "job blockers."

If you decide to get something tattooed to a visible place on your neck you can pretty much kiss a lot of Corporate America goodbye. That's actually not a bad thing. Anyone whose been apart of Corporate knows what a soul sucking experience it is...and should be avoided at all costs!

It's 'optimal' if you can become a full time rock star, tattoo artist or other occupation where being edgy is welcome.

In the video below Travis Barker tells us the reason for his many tattoos. Travis claims to have spent over $30,000 on his body art.

Another part of the neck to get tatted is the back of the neck. Very sexy! The nape of the neck is one of the "erogenous zones" purr. Also, the back of the neck can be covered up pretty easily.

Angelina Jolie whose known to have a lot of tats has this one on at the base of her neck. The Gothic letter tattoo says "Know Your Rights". It's the title of a song of her favorite band The Clash. It also is significant to her because of her Humanitarian Work as a UN Ambassador working with Refugees around the world. Every tattoo on Angelina's body has a special meaning to her.

If you're seriously thinking about a neck tattoo you probably realize it's not a place you want to give half ass thought to. Because of it's visibility it's really got to have special meaning to you...represent a part of yourself. A tattoo artist that has helped a lot of people find a really meaningful designs is Chris Evans. Check out his 5 Steps to Choosing the right design here.

Top 3 Criteria For finding the perfect neck tattoo design

1. Your Design must be absolutely eye catching. It must be the kind of tattoo design that people compliment you on all the time and it must be the kind of design people wish they had themselves.

2. Your tattoo must have a powerful personal meaning that means something special to you. A tattoo without special meaning is a meaningless tattoo and people with meaningless tattoos end up regretting them in the future.

Rachel Evan Wood quotes Edgar Allan Poe, "All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream."

3. Your tattoo must tell a fascintating story of who you are as a person, what your life is about and the kind of experiences you've had along the way.

Superstar rapper Lil Wayne has tattoos all over his neck.

In this image has 'God ' and a red star tattooed. If you look at the March 2010 Rolling Stone Cover he has 'So Blessed' where God is now.

On the right side of his neck he has a ‘W’ and ‘Weezy’ which is his nickname and his favourite letter from the alphabet

On the left side of his neck is His ‘Misunderstood’, ‘Tune’ and ‘Lucky Me’ tattoos…

Lil' Wayne is starting a one year prison sentence that will likely add more tattoos to his already heavily inked body.

The top 3 criteria for picking the perfect design was from Chris Evans who is called the "Tattoo Finder Guru." He gives you personality tests at his risk free membership site so that you can choose a design that truly represents you.

Finding The Right Artist

Most of today's tattoo professionals are far more skilled and highly trained then ever. It is your responsibility to make sure you are working with one of these quality professionals.

Getting tattooed is intimate and personal. So how do you know who is right for you?

There are three basic elements to consider when choosing:
Experience, portfolio and attitude.

It's always good to find an artist who has a few years of experience and is seasoned with the style of artwork you have chosen. Ask to see their portfolio of finished tattoos. Reputable tattoo artists will have a portfolio. If portfolios are not available, this is a bad sign.

Look carefully at the pictures. Check for the quality of the black outlines. Are these lines clean and crisp, or are they shaky and irregular? Also, look at the color or shading. Are the colors bright and solid or are they dull, with missing patches? Do the colors blend smoothly? Is the image easy to understand? Do the tattoos contour properly to the body? If the portfolio meets your requirements, you will want to get to know the artist.

Because tattoos are personal and somewhat painful, it is good to work with someone who's chair-side manner gives you great confidence. The artists should be open to answering your questions. They should share in your ideas and enthusiasm for your tattoo. If the artist does not like your ideas or tries to steer you into something you are not looking for, then you might be in the wrong place.

Find an artist whom will to give you what you want. Stay true to your instincts. Not all tattoo artists are the same and it might take several trips to different tattoo studios before you find the right one. No tattoo artist is perfect, but there is a tattoo artist PERFECT for you!
